A special administrative region of the People's Republic of China in Hong Kong on the coast of the South China Sea is an important economic and trade centre. Hong Kong has income tax of 16.5% on profits from transactions that take place in Hong Kong. A company that operates in Hong Kong but gets its profits from elsewhere does not have to pay income tax. Tax on capital income, dividends or interest is not paid in Hong Kong.
A company can be established usually within one week from delivering the completed and signed order, a copy of a passport and a copy of a document with the name and address not older than three months.
The costs of establishing an offshore company in Hong Kong, including a registered office, registration agent, secretary, standard company documents, share certificates, stamp and delivery by courier are EUR 2,700. The client only receives copy of documents; the originals must be filed with the Hong Kong office. Verification by a notary and the Apostille of copies of documents costs an additional EUR 1,000. Because most clients for HK companies open bank accounts in Hong Kong, copies verified by a Notary with Apostille are not needed in this case.
The fees for additional years (registered office, registration agent, secretary, fee for local authorities) are EUR 1.700.
All companies in Hong Kong must submit an annual audited financial statement. Costs vary from EUR 1,000 and more depending on the difficulty.
